Footage showing a bright orb UFO over Glasgow, Scotland, sparked a debate on social media as people shared conflicting views on what it likely was.
The video (scroll down below to view) shared on multiple social media platforms, including TikTok (@jayceeowbackup), shows a bright orb flying high in the night sky over the Scottish city.
The orb moved silently at a high speed as multiple residents watched in astonishment.
Was it a meteor?
Some residents who commented on the sighting on TikTok suggested the mysterious object was a meteor.
However, others expressed doubt that it was only a space rock. They pointed out that the UFO glowed with many bright colors. It also changed colors as it streaked across the night sky.
They argued that meteors usually have a bright white color.
However, the National Geographic Society explained that meteors have other colors besides white. A meteor’s color depends on its chemical composition.
Meteors with a high iron content may appear yellow, while those high in calcium have a purple or violet color. Bolides with a high iron-nickel or magnesium content glow green.
Alleged UFO changed colors
However, enthusiasts insisted that the object was more likely a UFO because it changed colors multiple times.
The new sighting incident comes amid an uptick in reports of UFOs over British skies.
Paranormal Papers reported that a British man from Gloucestershire spotted a silver-colored spherical orb chasing an aircraft over the village of Staunton, a few miles outside Gloucester.
He said it seemed the pilot knew an orb was trailing him because he banked left and right as if trying to shake off the orb. The 52-year-old said the sighting blew his mind.
British researchers also claimed that the famous 1983 UFO sighting (dubbed UK’s Roswell) on a farm outside Llanilar, Wales, involved an extraterrestrial craft.
Lab tests on debris from the UFO crash site reportedly contained material that technologically advanced aliens might have made.
Chicago photographer reported a multicolored UFO
A Chicago-based photographer also reported spotting a bizarre multicolored UFO from his balcony.
Photographer Dietrich Zeigler snapped a photo showing a strange object floating in the sky. The object had many colors (green, blue, gold, and purple).
It changed colors as it hovered in the air.
Zeigler said it had a humanoid face (see photo below) that resembled a Native American carved mask face.
