The Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occurred in the Soviet Union in 1986 drew the attention of technologically advanced alien species, researchers claimed sensationally on Netflix’s Encounters miniseries.

In episode four of the miniseries directed by Yon Motskin, a UFO researcher claimed extraterrestrial species are concerned about the threat of nuclear technology to humanity’s survival. Aliens intervened after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident to prevent toxic radiation from spreading.

It is not the first time that UFO believers claimed that aliens are monitoring human civilization to prevent nuclear disasters.

Former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell (1930-2016) believed aliens kept watch during the Cold War and intervened on multiple occasions to prevent nuclear war.

The controversial UFOlogist and alien conspiracy theorist Dr. Steven Greer also alleged that benevolent ETs have been helping to avert disaster since the US detonated the first atomic bomb on July 16, 1945, at the White Sands Missile Range in the Jornada del Muerto desert, New Mexico.

Aliens landed at Chernobyl to reduce radiation

UFO researcher Dr. Jensine Andresen said that many locals reported seeing an alien spacecraft flying low and landing at the power plant after an explosion occurred on April 26, 1986.

The ET spacecraft allegedly landed at a spot near reactor No. 4, where a massive blaze raged uncontrolled after the explosion.

The explosion spread radioactive contaminants over a wide area of the USSR and Europe. Witnesses alleged the craft landed for only a few minutes.

Researchers claimed that aliens in UFOs came to help prevent radiation from spreading. The alien action reportedly led to a sudden dramatic fall in radiation levels.

According to Andresen, technicians at the site reported high radiation levels of up to 3000 milli-roentgen before the aliens came. Another reading after the aliens left showed the radiation levels dropped dramatically to about 800 milli-roentgen.

No one could explain what caused the miraculous drop in radiation levels, but UFO believers concluded that aliens rushed to the scene to help.

Soviet authorities responded to the accident by creating an exclusion zone covering a radius of about 30 kilometers. They evacuated nearly 70,000 people from the area.

Scores of people died due to radiation exposure, and others were hospitalized.

Aliens also allegedly intervened in Fukushima

People also reported UFO sightings over Fukushima, Japan in March 2011 after an earthquake and tsunami triggered the Daichi power plant disaster.

Residents reported seeing strange lights in the sky soon after the accident. UFO enthusiasts claimed the lights came from a swarm of UFOs that the explosion attracted to the site.

Many believed aliens from an advanced extraterrestrial civilization came to help clear harmful radiation and save lives.
