Suspected Bigfoot tracks discovered near a wooded area outside Torquay in Devon, South West England, left the people who stumbled on them “weirded out.”

Hikers reported encountering the oversized humanoid tracks (see photo below). The tracks suggested a Bigfoot-like creature wandered out of the woods near the English seaside town and went for a walk along the coast.

The mysterious creature reportedly walked a short distance along the South West Coast Path to Maidencombe before slipping back into the woods.

The sighting comes after a British expert claimed that evidence suggested Bigfoot-like creatures were extinct on the British Isles. But the latest incident seems to contradict cryptozoologist Andy McGrath’s assertion.

McGrath claimed he spent more than half of a decade searching for evidence of Bigfoot but found none, despite widespread claims.

However, he opined that recent Nessie sightings suggested that the beloved lake monster was still alive in its watery habitats in the Scottish Highlands.

Bigfoot prints preserved in mud

According to DevonLive, a group with the Rock Solid Coasteering in Torquay reported the startling discovery on March 2.

They stumbled upon the tracks preserved in mud. They traced the oversized humanoid prints and found that the suspected Bigfoot wandered out of the Watcombe woods. It walked about 20 meters along the coast path before disappearing into the woods.

The excited witnesses said the discovery left them “weirded out.” They shared a photo of one of the prints with the news outlet (see the photo above). They described the tracks as large footprints perfectly preserved in the mud and belonging to a humanoid creature walking barefoot.

A witness with size 11 feet said the prints were nearly “half as big again” as theirs, suggesting the creature’s foot size was about 16-17.

Mysterious woodland monster sighted in 2006

Evidence suggesting a Bigfoot in Devonshire woods emerged in 2006 following multiple reported sightings of a mysterious apelike creature.

About 15 witnesses claimed they saw a tailless humanoid creature about 5 feet tall. It had brown hair and a greenish face. Two witnesses saw it swinging expertly from bough to bough in the woods.

The reports puzzled cryptozoologists because while witness descriptions suggested a Bigfoot, the reported height of 5 feet was too short.

Bigfoot lore claims an average male stands about 7 feet tall. Thus, media outlets dubbed the undersized creature “Littlefoot.”

However, some believers suggested the witnesses may have encountered a juvenile Bigfoot.
