A young Bigfoot hunter has raised hopes among enthusiasts about scientific proof of Sasquatch on the British Isles.

Fourteen-year-old Daniel Barnett reportedly discovered footprints while Sasquatch hunting. He collected and sent samples to a laboratory for DNA analysis.

The analysis reportedly suggested a primate left the footprint.

Barnett hunts Bigfoot and runs a podcast

Barnett teamed up with his father, Craig Barnett, 44, to hunt Bigfoot after a documentary he watched with his grandfather piqued his interest in the mysterious creature.

Although most sighting reports come from North America, the father and son duo claim success hunting on the British Isles.

He set up cameras in the woods near Bridgwater in Somerset, England, to monitor the forest for the legendary creature, the Daily Star reported.

He also runs a podcast, Mythical Legends, and invites top researchers to share information on the elusive cryptid.

His search recently yielded results when he found footprints he believed may have been left by a Sasquatch in the woods (follow the link to view the video on Facebook).

He sent samples collected from the footprint to SGS laboratory, a top testing, inspection, and certification company.

The results suggested to believers that Daniel may have stumbled on scientific evidence of a primate roaming the woods around Bridgwater.

The Daily Star reports that SGS spokesperson Willem van Strien confirmed they received soil samples, including leaf litter collected from the alleged mysterious footprints.

The company’s analysts said they extracted DNA belonging to a hominid (family Hominidae) and another from an Old World ape of the family Cercopithecidae.

The experts said the primate DNAs “obviously trigger some speculation.”

However, they also found DNA belonging to non-primate species, including eastern gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis), common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), and mammals such as Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus), Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), and European Badger (Meles meles).

Was the hominid DNA Bigfoot?

Despite excitement among enthusiasts over the results, an SGS expert explained they could not determine whether the hominid and Cercopithecidae DNA were evidence of Bigfoot.

They explained that they did not have any confirmed Bigfoot DNA in their database for comparison.

“Unfortunately, no confirmed DNA sequence of Bigfoot exists in the barcode reference databases we use at SGS,” the expert said.

Apes of the family Cercopithecidae are Old World primates, including multiple genera and species. Baboons (genus Papio), macaques (genus Macaca), and colobus monkeys (genus Piliocolobus) are among the best-known genera of the family.

However, researchers don’t believe Sasquatch is monkey-like. The cryptid walks upright with a bipedal stance, so researchers believe it is ape-like or humanoid.

The latest news comes after Paranormal Papers reported an image circulating on social media purportedly showing a female Bigfoot carrying her infant on her back in Upstate New York woods.

A Bigfoot hunter reportedly captured the image years ago in Beacon, Dutchess County, New York.
