Believers claimed that a Bigfoot saved the life of North Carolina toddler Casey Hathaway after he went missing in the woods in January 2019.

A search team found Casey alive and well after surviving freezing temperatures in the woods for three days.

When interrogators questioned him, he said he made friends with a bear who kept him warm. However, believers argued that the boy likely mistook a Sasquatch for a bear.

3-year-old Casey survived freezing temperatures

A team of law enforcement and military personnel found Casey crying for his mom after getting caught in a bush of thorns in Craven County woods.

The boy was cold, scared, thirsty, and hungry but alive. He wasn’t dressed for the cold weather conditions in the middle of January. So everyone wondered how he survived the low temperatures for three days without food and water.

Casey said a bear took care of him

Rescuers couldn’t understand how a 25-pound, 2 feet 4 inches tall boy survived three days in the woods without winter gear.

It was so cold that police authorities had to turn back many healthy but inexperienced adults who volunteered to join search parties out of fear for their safety.

Temperatures on the first night after Casey went missing dropped as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and 2 inches of freezing rain fell the second night.

A Craven County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told baffled reporters that the boy said he made friends with a bear who kept him company.

The bear helped him survive by keeping him warm.

Was it a bear or Bigfoot?

ABC 11 reported that Casey disappeared unexpectedly after spending the day playing with young relatives in his great-grandmother’s backyard bordering the woods.

His great-grandmother noticed he was missing after his playmates came inside, and he was not with them. They called 911 after they couldn’t find him.

Casey appeared to have lingered in the backyard after his playmates went inside. He then wandered off into nearby woods and lost his way.

People struggled to make sense of Casey’s story that he made friends with a bear who took care of him.

However, Bigfoot enthusiasts pointed out that North Carolina is Bigfoot country.

Scores of Bigfoot sighting reports have come from NC. Thus, the creature might have been a Sasquatch.

They argued that a young child could mistake any furry animal in the woods for a bear. Even experienced hunters sometimes mistake bears for Bigfoot.

Other believers argued that bears aren’t friendly with children. Besides, most hibernate during winter.
